Make Your Own Spice Rub

We've just inherited a charcoal grill from my grandparents, and we are so excited! I know it's towards the end of the grilling season, but I'm just getting started! Tonight, I plan to make spice rubbed chicken (yummy!) We made our own spice run with ingredients on hand, luckily I found a bygone Everyday Food recipe:

All Purpose Spice Rub
1/3 cup coarse salt
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
2 Tbsp. ground black pepper
2 Tbsp. dried oregano
2 Tbsp. dried thyme
1 Tbsp. cayenne pepper

This makes 1 1/4 cups (enough to season 5-10 pounds of meat.) Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
